What We Collect

When you run a diagnostic, we collect: (a) the information you submit (URL, product description, revenue/funding stage, behavioral answers); (b) your email address if you provide one; (c) anonymized usage events (page views, diagnostic starts, completions) for product improvement.

What We Do With It

Diagnostic inputs are used solely to generate your report. Emails are used only to deliver reports or replies you explicitly request. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as required to operate the service (e.g., payment processing via Stripe, email delivery via Resend).

Scraped Website Data

If you submit a URL, we fetch and store the publicly visible content of that page to perform the analysis. We do not attempt to bypass authentication, access non-public areas, or persist the scraped content beyond what is needed for the diagnostic.

Data Retention

Diagnostic records are retained indefinitely so you can access historical reports. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@failmodes.ai with your diagnostic ID or email address. We normally respond within one business day.

Analytics

We use anonymized event tracking to understand how founders use the diagnostic and improve the product. This data is not personally identifiable.
